Wanting to go back, can I not try?
Is it in vain to even think of?
climbing this ladder out of the hole I put myself in,
it seems there's no top in sight.
Deceit grips in plans, can you speak?
Still I climb, slowly ripping the chain from skin,
bleeding, exhausted, hanging with ounces,
succumbing to waves of dreams unfolding.
Endure to the end and accept the course,
for in wishing doth destruction reign.
In its time, it could be great and worthwhile,
off to new heights, the hole specks.
The sky unfurling fangs, an auditory trump to measure.
Watch out from behind.
The time's near, can you hear?
Can you see the frightened ones?
How about the falling bombs?
Pain lingers on.
